Our Mission

Young Urban Moms out there:  Welcome to your e-home!

If you are anything like us, you’ve probably visited other mom sites, and as great as they all are, you still feel like something’s missing.
Well, look no further.

When we accomplish our mission, YUM (as we affectionately refer to ourselves and hope that you start doing the same) will be your one stop e-spot for information, insight, inspiration, and a real sense of community.

Now, we don’t place a specific age-range on the “Y” in YUM. We actually subscribe to the philosophy that youth is a state of mind.  In other words, if you relate to what you read here, then you belong to the club.  In full disclosure, we’re mid-late-twenty-somethings (yes, we did make that phrase up) and most of our counterparts range in age from 20-40. So feel free to also find your spot and membership card among this strong circle of friends.

It’s been said that “the moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never.” YUMs believe that phrase holds true, and given this we want the site to focus on that woman that continues to exist somewhere within the mother in all of us.

As mothers, it is our sacred responsibility to lead, train, and teach our children to contribute to society to their highest potential.  This requires a lot of nurturing and patience that probably wouldn’t be in abundance if the woman is not emotionally or physically in a good place, including and aside from motherhood.

Whether you’re trying to (finally) get your degree, find a more flexible job arrangement so that you can be there for your little ones, deal with BD (Baby Daddy) drama, figure out a budget, wondering what to prepare for dinner tonight, looking for affordable outings, or freaking out over your stretch marks, this site is here to help you through this!

Our goal is to empower you to be the best woman, and in turn, the best YUM that we know you could be.
