I love going to the movies. It’s like you’re in a different world for two hours. I started taking my kids to the movies when they were only weeks old, keeping them in the Baby Bjorn and nursing them when they got fussy. Now that they are lively, energetic 4, 2, and 1 year olds, I hardly ever see movies with them. It is expensive for one and once I spend the money, I would be really annoyed to have to leave because one kid couldn’t sit down or another is scared by the loud noises.
So when I stumbled upon a few theater websites promoting super discounted pricing for summer kids movies I was so excited. Plus, I love that so many of them start at 10:00 am (prior to my kids’ naps). Get your children and head out to the theater this summer without emptying your wallet.
Regal Theaters are hosting a Summer Movie Express designed to enjoy a great selection of films at a terrific value. Selected G or PG rated movies will be offered for only $1 at 284 Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres around the country. The majority of participating theatres offer the Summer Movie Express on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 am for nine weeks, but local theatre schedules do vary. Participating locations, dates and film titles are available online.
A portion of proceeds from the Summer Movie Express will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute. Will Rogers uses the money to fund the institute’s mission in the areas of medical research and health education. Regal has committed to donating a million dollars to Will Rogers Institute from this summer movie series.
Join Cinemark Theaters for their 10-week Summer Movie Clubhouse with children’s movies perfect for families. Starting May 23rd in many locations, over 150 participating Cinemark and Century complexes in 32 states will bring some of Hollywood’s most recent G and PG rated movies back to the theatre at a very affordable cost.
All 10 movies can be purchased in advance for only $5.00 (that’s .50/movie!), or tickets can be purchased separately at the box office for $1 per show. Each theatre will have ten movies for the “Clubhouse” series. Titles, times and start dates will vary by theatre. For a complete list of participating theatres, dates and show times, and further details go online.
This summer keep cool and catch a recent children’s movie at Marcus Theaters Kids Rule series. These discount movies are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. The series starts June 21st and goes through August 11th and runs in 42 theaters, mostly in the Midwest. Tickets are $2/person and on Tuesdays, many theaters also have discounted popcorn and soda.
