It was an eventful 2012, to say the least… Personally, I completed my degree, which at one point seemed like the most impossible and furthest of dreams. I was also, as part a Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) Retreat, invited to the White House to discuss the many concerns and issues afflicting young moms.
For Young Urban Moms, in general, it wasn’t such a bad year either. We launched the first of many Conferences in New York City. Thank you again to all those that supported our vision, and wish to see young moms excel and succeed just as earnestly as we do. We even teamed up with the great video group, Young Moms YOUnite.
So what next? We’ve cleared out the “Vision Board” slate and are plowing the road ahead of us. We want another big conference, bigger group of writers, to connect with more young moms from across the country, and bring YUMs everywhere the best and honest information possible. Yes, that means adding some images of beautiful conference spaces, smiling young moms and whatever else symbolizes these goals for us.
To be honest, 2012 exceeded our expectations and we don’t expect any less from the coming years. It’s what naturally happens when you put in the work, love and dedication a project and mission you believe in.
Happy New Year, YUMs!
